How do I find roommates at my own college?

Short answer
Post in your college's housing group with a short introduction, your budget and your move-in date, and reply to other students' roommate posts. Ask in class, club and team group chats, and check whether your school runs an off-campus roommate matching service. Someone you already know a little, like a classmate or teammate, is often a good start.
A good student roommate post includes your year and major, your schedule (early classes, late shifts, practice times), whether you want a quiet or social place, and whether you already have a unit or want to look together. Being specific attracts people who fit and saves everyone time. If you're looking as a group, say how many rooms you need and your combined budget.
Before you commit, meet in person and talk through what students most often clash over: guests and partners staying over, cleaning, noise during exams, and money. Living with a close friend isn't automatically easier, because some friendships don't survive shared bills.
