Why was my post declined in a housing group?

Short answer
Posts are usually declined for missing basics such as price, location or dates, for being copied into many groups, for asking for money before a viewing, for being off-topic, or for wording that breaks group or fair housing rules. A declined post isn't a ban. Fix the problem and post again.
Check your post against the common reasons:
- No price, no area, or no move-in date.
- The same text posted in groups for many cities, a scam pattern even when the listing is real.
- A request for a deposit, application fee or "holding fee" before someone has seen the place.
- Off-topic content: jobs, items for sale, services or general chat in a housing-only group.
- Promotion from a business rather than a person renting or looking.
- Wording that prefers or excludes people by race, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability or another protected trait.
- The same post submitted again soon after the last one.
Facebook does not always show why a post was declined. Assume it is one of the above, and check the group rules for anything specific to that group, such as a ban on lease takeovers or a required post format.
