Posting a listing
My listing is up but nobody is replying. What should I change?

Short answer
Check the price first. If it's above similar listings nearby, that's the most likely reason. Then look at the first line, which should show the price, place and date, and at the photos, which should be bright and real. Fix these in the existing post, then add a comment with the update so it moves up.
- Compare your rent with five recent listings nearby. If yours is noticeably higher without a clear reason, lower it or add value, such as including utilities.
- Rewrite the first line with the type of place, area, price and date. "Cozy space for rent" tells a skimming reader nothing.
- Replace dark or cluttered photos, and lead with the room or unit being rented.
- Make sure you mention what people filter on: furnished, pets, parking, laundry, lease length.
- Open your message requests folder. Replies may be arriving there unseen.
Timing matters too. A room listed for a date three months away gets less interest than one available next month, and demand near colleges rises and falls with the semester. If your date is far off, a slow start is normal.
